A proprietary real estate investment firm and full-service agent brokerage — honoring the courage, discipline, and legacy of the Montford Point Marines.
Integrity. Strategy. Stewardship.
Montford Point Capital operates across two distinct arms of the real estate industry — a proprietary investment business and a full-service real estate agent brokerage.
On the investment side, we deploy our own capital into REITs, rental properties, fix-and-flip projects, and wholesaling. These are proprietary holdings — built, managed, and owned by the firm — not funds or pooled investment vehicles offered to outside investors.
On the agent side, we stand ready to represent clients buying and selling homes with the same discipline, strategy, and market insight that drives our own portfolio. Whether you're purchasing your first property or listing a long-held family home, our team brings institutional-grade diligence to every transaction.
Our name is a tribute to the Montford Point Marines — the first African American recruits to serve in the United States Marine Corps, whose resilience, courage, and brotherhood in the face of adversity set a standard of excellence that inspires everything we do.
Every decision is grounded in research, numbers, and long-term thinking.
Our word is our bond. Transparent dealings. Every client. Every time.
Purpose-driven investments tailored to your goals and your timeline.
We help you create wealth that outlives you and uplifts your family.
Two arms. One standard of excellence.
Full-service representation for buyers and sellers — bringing institutional-grade market insight to every transaction.
From first-time buyers to seasoned homeowners, we guide you through every step of the purchasing journey — negotiation, financing, inspection, and closing.
Maximize your property's value with a data-driven pricing strategy, professional marketing, and a team that treats your sale with the urgency it deserves.
Need to move quickly? If your property fits our proprietary investment criteria, we may extend a direct cash offer — no showings, no staging, no financing contingencies.
Every investment vertical below is owned and operated by the firm using our own capital — not pooled funds or outside investor vehicles.
We allocate firm capital across vetted public and private REITs, building diversified exposure to institutional-grade real estate and stable dividend income.
We acquire, operate, and scale a portfolio of single-family, multi-family, and short-term rentals — building long-term cash flow and equity in growing markets.
We identify undervalued properties, renovate with discipline and market awareness, and return quality homes to the market — creating value and improving neighborhoods.
We source off-market opportunities and provide fast, fair solutions to motivated sellers — assigning qualifying contracts to a trusted network of end buyers.
How we deploy firm capital across the real estate landscape.
Montford Point Capital's investments are proprietary — funded, managed, and held by the firm. We do not solicit, pool, or manage outside investor capital. The strategy below reflects how we put our own resources to work.
Allocations into public and private REITs that generate stable dividend income for the firm's balance sheet.
Fix-and-flip projects where we apply disciplined underwriting, market-aware design, and tight cost control.
An owned rental portfolio structured for compounding cash flow, appreciation, and generational equity.
Off-market wholesaling and seller-direct acquisition channels that feed every other vertical we operate.
The trailblazers whose courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood transformed the United States Marine Corps — and inspired our name.
In the summer of 1942, a segregated training camp opened on the swampy, pine-covered shoreline of the New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina. It was called Montford Point — and it would become the proving ground for the first African American recruits to ever enter the United States Marine Corps.
For nearly 170 years, the Marine Corps had been closed to Black Americans. That changed in June 1941, when President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 8802, banning racial discrimination in the defense industries. By 1942, the Marines — the last branch of the U.S. armed forces to accept African Americans — opened Montford Point as a separate training facility at Marine Barracks New River (now Camp Lejeune).
Between 1942 and 1949, approximately 20,000 African American men trained at Montford Point. They endured harsh conditions, segregated quarters, and white drill instructors who were later replaced by Black noncommissioned officers — legends like Sergeant Major Gilbert "Hashmark" Johnson and Sergeant Major Edgar R. Huff — who set an unforgiving standard of discipline and excellence.
They were told they would never see combat. They did. They were told they could never lead Marines. They did. They came home with medals, with wounds, and with a quiet, unwavering certainty that they had earned every inch of the title United States Marine.
President Roosevelt signs the order prohibiting racial discrimination in the defense industry, opening the door for African Americans to serve in all branches of the military.
On August 26, 1942, the first African American recruit — Private Howard P. Perry — reports for duty at Montford Point Camp, beginning a new chapter in Marine Corps history.
Montford Point Marines deploy with the 51st and 52nd Defense Battalions and Marine Depot and Ammunition Companies, serving with distinction in the Battles of Saipan, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Guam, and Peleliu.
Following President Truman's Executive Order 9981 in 1948, Montford Point Camp closes as a segregated facility. The Marine Corps formally integrates, and Montford Point is renamed Camp Johnson in 1974 — the only Marine Corps base named for an African American.
Montford Point veterans answer the call again, serving in integrated units throughout the Korean War, passing on their hard-earned standard of excellence to a new generation of Marines.
The legacy continues in the jungles of Southeast Asia, where many original Montford Pointers served as senior leaders — mentoring the Marines who would come after them.
President Barack Obama presents the Congressional Gold Medal — the highest civilian honor in the United States — to the Montford Point Marines, recognizing their courage, service, and the barriers they broke for every Marine who followed.
Let us remember and honor the first African American Marines, who, despite the incredible adversity they faced, paved the way for generations of Marines to come. Semper Fidelis.— The Legacy of the Montford Point Marines
